Futures Lead Trader Rules: Application Requirements, First Trade, Profit Sharing, Violations

2026-10-15 09:07:55

FameEX Futures Copy Trading allows eligible users to apply for Lead Trader status and earn profit sharing from qualifying profits generated by followers who copy their futures trades. Lead Traders should understand how to review their trading performance and how profit sharing is settled. They should also be familiar with the platform's risk control rules and how to request to stop lead trading.

1. Lead Trader Application Requirements and Rejection Handling

After you submit your Lead Trader application, FameEX will review your application details and account status. Submitting an application does not automatically grant Lead Trader status. You must pass the review before you can enable futures lead trading.

1) What Are the Requirements to Become a FameEX Futures Lead Trader?

FameEX evaluates Lead Trader applications based on account information, identity verification, trading permissions, and available funds. Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Identity Verification: You must have completed the required KYC verification, and your verification status must remain valid.
  • Account Status: Your account must be active and operating normally, with no risk control or unlocked trading restrictions.
  • Trading Permissions: Futures Trading and Futures Copy Trading function must be supported in your country or region. Your account must not have any active copy trading orders as a Follower.
  • Sufficient Own Funds: Your Futures Account must have at least 100 USDT in net equity from your own funds at the time of the application review. Futures bonuses, trial funds, and other coupons are excluded from this requirement.

2) What Should I Do If My Lead Trader Application Is Rejected?

If your application is rejected, we recommend checking the following:

  • Check Your Account Status: Make sure your FameEX account is normal without any risk control. Check for any risk control measures, trading restrictions, or other limitations that could affect your eligibility for Futures Copy Trading.
  • Review Your Application Details: Verify your submitted information, including your avatar, display name, profile description, displayed profit-sharing ratio, and selected lead trading pairs. Check whether the platform has requested any additional information.
  • Check Your Application Status: Go to the Futures Copy Trading page to review your current application status. You should also check official FameEX notifications for the review result.

If you cannot determine why your application was rejected or need assistance, please contact FameEX Online Customer Support. For more details, please refer to “How to Become a FameEX Futures Lead Trader?”

2. How to Start Your First Futures Lead Trade After Approval?

Once your Lead Trader application is approved, you must accept the relevant agreements and complete the required settings before enabling futures lead trading. These include selecting your lead trading pairs and configuring the necessary trading options. After completing the setup, you can place your first lead trade through Futures Trading.

For more detailed instructions on enabling lead trading, selecting trading pairs, and viewing or managing lead trading orders, please refer to “Lead Trader Guide for Futures Copy Trading (Web)”

3. How to Check Your Lead Trading Performance?

Lead Traders can view their trading statistics on the FameEX Futures Copy Trading page to review their performance and follower activity over different periods. Key metrics include ROI, total profit, win rate, lead trading days, number of followers, and trading frequency. These metrics can help you assess your overall lead trading performance. You can also view additional trading information on your Trader Profile page.

Please note that historical ROI, win rate, and other performance metrics are provided for reference only. They do not guarantee future trading results or indicate that followers will achieve the same returns.

4. How Is Lead Trader Profit Sharing Calculated and Settled?

FameEX Futures Copy Trading uses a profit-sharing mechanism. When a follower generates eligible positive profits from closed positions during the settlement period, the system calculates the Lead Trader's profit share using the profit-sharing ratio locked when the copy trading relationship was established.

1) Profit-Sharing Calculation

Profit-Sharing Amount = Profit Generated by the Follower × Profit-Sharing Ratio

Item

Description

Profit Generated by the Follower

The total position PnL from all closed positions of the follower during the current settlement period. Only positive totals are counted. Negative totals are treated as zero, and open positions are excluded.

Position PnL

Closing Profit + Funding Fees − Opening and Closing Trading Fees

Profit-Sharing Ratio

The ratio is locked when the copy trading relationship is established. Any subsequent changes apply only to new copy trading relationships. Existing followers retain their originally agreed ratios.

For Example:

Let’s suppose a Follower copies a Lead Trader's futures trades and there are total profits of 150 USDT and total losses of 50 USDT from all closed positions during the same settlement period. These amounts already account for funding fees and opening and closing trading fees. The lead trader’s profit-sharing ratio is 10%; the calculation is as follows:

  • Follower's Profit Before Profit Sharing: 150 − 50 = 100 USDT
  • Profit Sharing Earned by the Lead Trader: 100 × 10% = 10 USDT
  • Follower's Profit After Profit Sharing: 100 − 10 = 90 USDT

Therefore, the Follower pays 10 USDT to the Lead Trader as profit sharing from their eligible profits for that settlement period. The Follower retains the remaining 90 USDT after profit sharing.

If the Follower's total PnL from all closed positions is negative during the settlement period, no profit sharing will be generated, and the system will not create a negative profit-sharing record.

2) Profit-Sharing Pre-Deduction and Settlement Rules

When a follower closes a profitable position, the system temporarily withholds the applicable profit-sharing amount according to the profit-sharing rules. The pre-deducted amount is not necessarily the final amount paid to the Lead Trader. Subsequent losses during the same settlement period may offset earlier profits and reduce the final profit-sharing amount.

Profit sharing is calculated separately for each follower based on the total eligible PnL from closed positions during the settlement period. Only positive profits that meet the profit-sharing requirements are included. Open positions are excluded from the current settlement until they are closed.

3) How to View Profit-Sharing Records?

Lead Traders can go to the FameEX Futures Copy Trading page and open their [Trader Profile]. Under [Profit Sharing], you can review your profit-sharing information, including accumulated profit sharing, historical profit-sharing records, and related settlement details.

4) Can Lead Traders Change Their Profit-Sharing Ratio?

No. The profit-sharing ratio for FameEX Futures Lead Traders is set by the platform and cannot be changed by Lead Traders. The applicable ratio is shown on the platform. Profit-sharing amounts are calculated based on this ratio and the follower's eligible profits during each settlement period.

5. What Trading Activities May Trigger Violations or Risk Control Restrictions?

Under FameEX's current risk control rules, certain trading activities may be classified as abnormal or high-risk behavior. These include self-trading, wash trading between related accounts, trading volume manipulation or improper arbitrage using multiple accounts, unauthorized operation of other users' accounts, attempted market manipulation, and exploitation of system vulnerabilities or platform rules for improper gains.

If your account triggers risk control measures, FameEX may take appropriate action. These measures may include warnings, corrective action requirements, trading restrictions, reduced position-opening limits, forced liquidation, or the freezing of some or all account assets. Such restrictions may also affect the account's eligibility or ability to use Futures Lead Trading services.

6. How to Stop Lead Trading or Relinquish Lead Trader Status?

If you no longer wish to provide futures lead trading services, you should review your current trading activities, follower relationships, and unsettled profit-sharing amounts before requesting to stop lead trading or exit Lead Trader status.

1) What to Check Before Stopping Lead Trading

  • Review Open Positions and Orders: Check whether you have any open positions, unfilled orders, or other pending futures trading activities.
  • Review Your Followers: Check your current number of followers and active copy trading relationships to understand which users may be affected when you stop lead trading.
  • Review Profit-Sharing Records: Check your settled and unsettled profit-sharing records. Make sure you distinguish pending profit sharing from amounts that have already been credited to your account.

2) How to Request to Stop Lead Trading?

If you wish to stop lead trading or cancel Lead Trader status, please contact FameEX Online Customer Support to confirm the applicable procedures, eligibility restrictions, and next steps for your account.

If you wish to apply for Lead Trader status again in the future, you must meet the application and review requirements in effect at that time. Whether you can reapply immediately after exiting will depend on the platform's review decision.

7. Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can I Apply Again If My Lead Trader Application Is Rejected?

A: Your eligibility to reapply depends on your account status, application review result, and applicable platform rules. We recommend checking official notifications first. If you cannot confirm the reapplication requirements, please contact FameEX Online Customer Support.

Q2: Why Did None of My Followers Open a Position After My First Lead Trade?

A: Opening a position as a Lead Trader does not guarantee successful execution for every follower. Copy trading may fail due to insufficient available funds, minimum order requirements, trading pair settings, risk controls, or market conditions. Followers can check their trading records and platform notifications for specific reasons.

Q3: Why Haven't I Received Profit Sharing Even Though I've Placed Trades?

A: Profit sharing is calculated based on eligible profits generated by followers during each settlement period. You may not receive profit sharing if no followers have successfully copied your trades, the relevant positions are still open, or no eligible positive profits have been generated during the settlement period.

Q4: Can Lead Traders Adjust Their Own Profit-Sharing Ratio?

A: No. The profit-sharing ratio is set up by FameEX and cannot be adjusted by Lead Traders. The applicable ratio is displayed on the platform, and profit-sharing amounts are calculated according to the relevant settlement rules.

Q5: Can I Use the Same FameEX Account as Both a Lead Trader and a Follower?

A: No. Currently, the same FameEX account cannot be used as both a Lead Trader and a Follower at the same time. If your account already has Lead Trader status, please refer to the account status and available features shown on the Futures Copy Trading page.

Q6: Can I Apply Again for Lead Trader Status After I Cancel Lead Trading Status?

A: Your eligibility to reapply depends on your account status, reason for exiting, and applicable platform review requirements. Risk control measures or other account restrictions may affect your eligibility. For further assistance, please contact FameEX Online Customer Support.
